Aptitude utility removed from Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat

Aptitude is a menu-driven, text-based front-end to the Advanced Packaging Tool (APT) system. Aptitude is best suited for use in a non-graphical terminal environment to ensure proper functioning of the command keys. You may start Aptitude as a normal user with the following command at a terminal prompt:

sudo aptitude

There was a lot of talk about apt-get being compared to aptitude and with notion that apt-get will be removed form the repository but surprisingly aptitude has been removed from Ubuntu repository and won’t be able the next time you install Ubuntu 10.10 alpha 2 release.
